Requested Features and Clarifications

I've updated the requested features page. New requests are underlined. Note that, while I still have requests outstanding from the last update, that doesn't mean they're not getting in the game. I generally wait until I'm working on the point at which they would be added to work on them.

As for clarifications, the new Style system is not for hair. That'll be tomorrow. The style system is basically a bonus system if you manage to get your looks to match a particular style. The current styles available are Tomboy, Party Girl, Femme Fatale, Goth and Bimbo, and I'll be adding more as I think of them (or they're suggested). But you need to meet the "tolerances". For example, goths wear black; if you're not wearing black, you're not going to get the Goth style. But there are other requirements as well. I'll put in the hint system before too long.

Update 10/31

And we're back on track. Took longer than I wanted, but I started late, so whatcha gonna do.

Also, Happy Halloween. I dressed up as a stressed journalist named Dick Justice.

Major Updates
- Style system implemented. There are currently five possible styles available, and getting them provides bonuses to Natural Charisma (once), Non-Natural Charisma (always), and sometimes a skill or trait (once). Hopefully, I'll be able to come up with more eventually.

Minor Updates
- Slob trait will now, as long as you're not going to be dirty, reduce by 1 point every day (i.e. if you've done something that requires showering, but don't shower, you will not lower your Slob trait). Unless you have the Slob trait, which is permanent once unlocked. Oh, and because of this change, Slob is now much easier to unlock (15 points instead of 40).

Bug Fixes
- If Maria is around, you will not have morning sickness, if pregnant.
- All the problems caused by the sweatsuit and sports bra being "exercise" clothing have probably been fixed. This includes the problem of returning from the beach and not putting them back on, going to the strip club to work and not being able to put them back on, and a couple of others.
- Jogging should now properly remove your shoes. It doesn't put the sneakers on, but it will take off any footwear before throwing you into the shower. Unless you're a slob, but you already knew that.
- Werewolf transformation will work after getting your Wolf Instincts above 50.
- Having the female client suddenly become a male client during the Stripper job has been fixed.
- The "Tall Woman" random event will no longer reset your height change counter if you're already getting taller or shorter from something else.

Reported Issues
- Someone reported that using the "Get Dressed" command sometimes doesn't allow you to put clothes on, even though putting them on manually is successful. If this is for a specific article of clothing I need to know which one. If it's for all of them, please let me know. If it only happens when you Import/Export or port over a save, this is not a bug with the game, but with the engine, which I cannot fix.
- Someone reported a long-lasting period. Please let me know exactly what the problem is so that I can fix it.

New computer!

Yup, it's up, and it's working.

Now to hook up my other hard drives and get everything back to normal...ish.

New computer! But not...

So I got my computer parts today, put them together, and the system turns on, which is always a nice thing.

Just one problem: the new motherboard I got doesn't have a Parallel ATA connector, which isn't that big a deal. My old C: drive is PATA instead of SATA, but I can deal with that by getting a PCI card that adds a PATA port, and install the operating system on my fresh, new 160GB SATA drive.

Just one problem.

My DVD drive is a PATA drive. Which means the system, in BIOS, can't detect the drive, which means I can't install the operating system.

Sigh. Nothing can ever be easy, can it?

It's too late tonight to keep messing with it, but I've already come up with a workaround (mostly involving another computer), so, unless something completely ridiculous happens, which is still a possibility, I should be back to streaming on Monday, and it's about damn time (I'm losing my MIND!).

Delays! Yay!

Neweg is being a bunch of fuckers. Apparently, the fact that I'm shipping the parts to an address OTHER than my billing address means three DAYS of delay between them taking my money, and them sending my parts.

Don't know if I'm going to be able to get my computer back up and running by tomorrow. If they ship the parts today, then yes, and I've been told that they SHOULD be shipped today, but it's not a guarantee. So my computer may be out of commission all week, for fuck's sake.

And all because I don't want $350 shipped to an apartment building. Gee, I can't imagine why I wouldn't want all that expensive computer stuff sitting outside my door for several hours while I'm at work. Can't imagine at all.

So, I apologize, it looks like this is going to take longer than I thought.

Impromptu Vacation

Well, I've ordered the parts, and had them shipped via next day delivery. So they could conceivably be here tomorrow, though I doubt it, but they will likely be here in time for Long Stream Thursday. Everything should be back to normal by then, fingers crossed.

I guess we'll see what happens.

In the meantime, I'm going to consider this a bit of a vacation. I realized earlier today that I've been working pretty much non-stop since June. Which means that, however unwanted this particular break is, I should probably take advantage of it while I can.

I've gotten some interesting requests with donations in the last few days, so it should be interesting to see what I come up with when I get back. I'll work on updating the requests page tomorrow or Wednesday.

What the fuck.

My computer was working just fine last night, I played Fallout New Vegas until about 1 in the morning, noticed it took an inordinate amount of time to turn off, but didn't think anything of it.

Now it won't turn on at all. Not even getting to POST. Monitor won't detect a signal and I have to turn off the power bar if I want to shut down the computer.

Goddamn it.

This challenge donation drive may turn into a "help Anonymous Man build a new computer" drive...I'll let you know.

The problem is that the motherboard died. The power supply is fine, the hard drives are fine, and the graphics card is fine. Unfortunately that means I need to get a new mobo, cpu and memory.

So, if you could find it in your heart to help me out with that, I would really appreciate it right now. I have the money to get the replacement parts regardless of what happens, but it is an expense I wasn't really expecting.

The good news is that when I get the parts and set up my computer (hopefully with Windows 7 as well), future streams will be much less taxing on the new CPU, since I'm looking at a Core i3 or i5.

In any event, I probably won't be streaming tomorrow, and maybe not for a couple of days, but I will be working (on paper) on other stuff in the meantime.

Worth Noting: Any donations will still go towards the 12/24 hour challenge (I updated the goal counter on the right to reflect the two separate goals), and the stand donation rules regarding Cursed still apply: if you donate, you are entitled to request an addition to the game.
